Attorneys for the Christian Law Association have received confirmation that Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm signed into law this afternoon an exemption protecting a church Bible college CLA has been defending for more than nine months.  This new law will effectively end state efforts to close a church-operated Bible college in northern Michigan.  Read more about this exciting development in the longstanding effort to preserve church freedoms to train future generations of ministry leaders!

Through a legal conflict that started last Christmas Eve when the pastor of a large church in northern Michigan received a "cease and desist" letter from the state government, God has brought a wonderful victory for Christian higher education.  The final version signed into law is much narrower than what must ultimately be made law due because the Governor's administration insisted on limiting its application. 

Attorneys for the Christian Law Association had the privilege of standing with this wonderful ministry and we thank God for His grace in bringing about this marvelous work that only He could accomplish.  While we thank God for protecting this particular Bible college ministry, much work remains on ensuring the freedom of all churches to train future ministry leaders.
