The Glory of Aging describes what the Bible says about aging and reveals that God has a special purpose for the aging process. It is written for persons over 50 and addresses the three stages of aging during this period of life. Although it realistically traces the physical decline in what researchers call the continuum of loss in the second half-century of life and the Bible describes, “though our outward man perish,” the spotlight blazes on the second part of that Biblical pronouncement-- “Yet the inward man is (being) renewed day by day!”
This contrast between the decline of the physical, outward person; and the growth and development of the spiritual, inward person forms the narrative of the book and formulates the challenge to each aging Christian to discover God’s glory of aging!

The Glory of Aging is designed for the individual post-50 reader as well as a study book for Sunday School and small groups. A Study Guide with 13 lessons is available to accompany the book. These lessons trace the growth and development of what the Bible calls the inward man in contrast to the decline of the outward man. It recognizes the harsh reality of physical aging but demonstrates God’s purpose for aging is to conform our character to the character traits of Jesus, to complete our earthly ministry, and to prepare for our heavenly passage. The Glory of Aging is a “must” read for Christians who are recognizing the first hints of physical aging. It reveals what the Bible says about aging in contrast to public opinion galvanized by the raging youth culture of recent decades. It demonstrates that God has a purpose for aging, which reduces fear, and proves that God has no wasted years for His children. The book demonstrates that although ministry dependent on physical strength will decrease with aging that there are significant ministries that can be continued as long as God gives mental awareness.
