When I Think of America
When I think of America, I think of the Constitution and the freedoms for which our founding fathers fought. Modern patriots view our country much the same way. Less government control over what citizens do, and more individual rights--these are the basic fundamentals that America's founders desired more than anything else. These include the extremely important right to freely express our religion, especially the freedom to worship without fear of government intrusion or intervention. Our Christian heritage in America is foundationally dependent on those who sacrificed in building this country of United States on the basis of freedom.
Some of those men are not very well known. Some gave their lives in battle so that you and I can pray and read our Bibles each day without fear that our government will find us and take it away. Christians in many other countries around the world do not have the privilege, or even the right, to openly read God's Holy Word. They are persecuted for doing simply what God has commanded every believer to do. These men and women continue to sacrifice their lives for the cause of Christ. We in America need to take advantage of every opportunity God has given us to read the Scriptures, pray, and share our faith with others.
As those in our ministry travel across this great land, we also see churches that are reaching their communities like never before. Revival meetings, church camps, children's ministries, and outreaches of many different kinds are being used by God to light this country on fire for Christ. We have had the privilege to be used to help many of these ministries as they serve Christ by reaching their Jerusalem with the Gospel.
As we consider our nation, we cannot ignore the serious moral issues with which our churches are now dealing. Things that years ago we never would have imagined are now issues that churches have to deal with daily. One of the best ways to combat sin is to keep ourselves fully in the Scriptures and meditate on His Word each day. We need to "keep thy heart with all diligence" as the Psalmist says, "for out of it are the issues of life." We are a nation who should seek God's face for guidance daily as we seek revival in America.
To the unknown church worker, volunteer, or person behind the scenes at your ministry, know that the sacrifice you make to the Lord is your labor of love. God is always watching. He sees your time and efforts, and you can rest assured that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. Remember that God’s blessing and encouragement is far better than man's recognition for your service. We join with believers in serving the Lord and pressing toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
The future of the nation is always in the hand of God. The Bible is clear that the heart of the king is in his control. It is our duty to serve and fulfill the calling of God in each of our lives. Each of us has a different sphere of influence, and we are all called to reach those around us with the Gospel of Christ. For some, the office is where you spend most of your time. For others, the local store or restaurant is the place you most often visit. Take time to follow God's command to tell others of God's greatest gift to mankind, his only begotten son, Jesus Christ. Revival will happen when God's people choose to serve God in all the ways He has commanded us. We must hide His Word in our hearts so that we might not sin, and we must go and tell the world of His goodness and love for them through Christ.
We have received many calls this year about believers under fire at work for inviting coworkers to church. In many of these situations, a simple phone call, letter, or email can repair the situation and allow your workplace to better understand your rights. If you have a question about your specific situation, call our office and speak with one of our attorneys who will at no cost to you help you understand your rights. Because we are your legal missionaries, we will continue to help you with absolutely no financial burden to you. We solely desire to help you follow God's command and calling on your life.
We have also received many calls asking for our legal recommendations on the best way to start a church. If you or someone you know is looking to start a church, please call us so that we can help you. We have information we want you to have so that you are legally prepared from the beginning stages to completion.
Bible clubs and children's programs will be going on throughout the summer in various stages of influence, and we can help your church have steps in place to legally protect your church while still holding these meetings and influencing the next generation for Christ. Our legal missionary attorneys have experience that will guide you in setting policies that prevent your church from allegations should those situations arise. We want to help you reach your communities with the Gospel and protect your church while you do it.
As I have said, we see a full spectrum of churches and ministries across this great land that are working tirelessly to see our country come to Christ. Our prayer and heart's desire is that all will be saved and live a life pleasing to God. We want to help you and your various ministries thrive as we serve together as believers in America. May we be a nation that is under God both in word and in deed. We will give God all the glory for His work. We look forward to serving each of you as your needs arise, and it is our privilege to serve as your legal missionaries.
