The Christian writer, C. S. Lewis once said, "God whispers to us in our pleasures. He speaks to us in our consciences. But God shouts to us in our pain." We saw that truth as a nation after 9/11/01, when even our government legislators assembled to pray to God for our nation's healing. When we have been hurt, we are quick to run to the Lord for His help. After the recent tragic shooting in Connecticut, we were angered and frantic for God to "do something!"
But we are forgetting that He already has done ALL for us in giving us His Son. It is we who have failed as a nation. We were founded on Judeo-Christian values but we have transitioned far away from them.
No longer does the "average family" go to church each Sunday. No longer does the public school uplift the Word of God (or even allow it to be read therein.) No longer do couples value their marriage vows as sacred vows given before an Almighty God. No longer do families look out for one another, or sacrifice for one another. No longer do the majority of churches feed the poor, care for the sick, elderly, and widows ("That's why we have government programs" we rationalize.) To kill an unborn baby is no longer a shocking occurrence; it's even legal in our America today.
How very far we have come as a nation away from God and His Commandments! This New Year 2013 let us all reaffirm our commitment to God that WE will make a difference. Set goals, and allow God to use you like never before. Decide that this is the moment to accomplish something great for Him. In your life show the love of Christ in all that you do - at home, at work, and at leisure. Demonstrate the qualities of Jesus: love, joy, peace, meekness, patience, kindness, forgiveness, tenderheartedness...and you WILL make a difference this New Year for our nation!
Do you faithfully pray for America?
Friday, December 14, 2012, is a day that will long be remembered as one of the saddest and darkest days for America. As a gunman savagely attacked and ended so many young lives and the lives of their educators, strong emotions were evoked in all of us - a mix of anger, fear and disbelief. Our hearts and prayers go out to the families of the victims of this senseless crime.
As Christians, we know that the root of evil in this world comes from Satan himself.
While the experts will long study the life of the killer and evaluate what could have been done differently to protect the victims, another question arises. What affected a young man so strongly that it drove him to commit the unthinkable?
Our world is saturated with negative and evil influences and, as believers, we often feel hopeless in the fight against it. The young people of our country are surrounded by the darkness and at times it seems like we have lost hope in rescuing them.
Yet, the Bible teaches us that there is a Hope for the future. There is a Light that can shine in the darkness and drive away the evil. There is a Savior who came to this world to defeat sin and conquer death! While the battle still wages against the wrong in this world, Jesus Christ is still the answer! The truth of the Gospel and the love of God for each one of us is what will make the difference in our world and overcome Satan and the evil he perpetuates.
Christian, stay shining for the Lord! Pastor, keep preaching the hope of the Gospel! Churches, continue reaching those lost in darkness with the Light of the world! May all of us decide to continue to stand by the grace of God and bring the love of the Savior to a world that so desperately needs Him! The Hope of America is Jesus!
With the organizational help of the legal team serving at Christian Law Association, many brand new churches will begin preaching the message of hope found in Jesus Christ!
It has been our privilege to assist pastors and churches as they opened their doors to reach a world looking for the Lord.
It has also been our privilege to help these churches to launch into the new communities and areas that are without existing churches. These new ministries will help bring many souls to the kingdom of God!
Please be in prayer for these believers in Christ as they reach out and shine in their community with the Gospel!
