Prayer and Praise
CLA Serving Local Churches Nationwide: Pray for the thousands of phone calls and emails that CLA attorneys answer each month serving local churches Nationwide. As more people drift their loyalty and allegiance away from their local churches, it is imperative that these Bible-believing and preaching churches be preserved and protected for the honor and glory of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
CLA Defending Christian Landlords: Pray for a Christian landlord in Pennsylvania who does not want to promote immoral conduct by renting to unmarried or same-sex couples. In states where public accommodation laws include sexual orientation or familial status as protected categories, landlords are required to violate their moral convictions in order to stay in business. Pray that Bible believing people will not be required in the future to choose between violating their Biblical convictions and obeying the law.
CLA Helping New
Churches Gain Access to Public Schools:Pray for new churches seeking access to
use public school facilities in Idaho and New York.In the past, it was taken for granted that
new churches would always have access to public facilities until they could
afford to own their own buildings.Today
such assumptions are no longer in effect in many communities and churches are
often not welcome.
CLA WinsBible Study for Senior Adults:Praise the Lord
that a senior housing complex in Georgia will be permitted
to have Bible studies in the common area. Many government housing personnel mistakenly believe that allowing
residents to study the Bible together is a violation of the alleged “separation
of church and state.”Our attorneys were
able to dispel that notion.Religious
residents must have the same rights as secular residents to meet together for
mutually agreeable activities.
Another Victory
for Seniors:Praise the Lord that a senior citizen
group in Wisconsin is now permitted
to continue saying grace at meals.Government officials had temporarily discontinued the practice when an
atheist member of the group claimed to be offended by hearing the prayers.
CLA Helping
Ministry Outreaches to the Poor:Please pray for protection for a mission
in Texas that was given
property its leaders are now unable to develop. The local community has not welcomed the group and law enforcement has
warned the mission that citizens might resort to violence to keep them out. Also, pray for a homeless shelter in Florida that wants to
hold outdoor worship services for the people it serves. The city is opposing this project, claiming
the mission needs to be a church with a building before it can hold worship
services outdoors.In years past, this
group was averaging 100 homeless people at its outdoor services, all of whom
were given a clear Gospel message.
CLA Helps Spiritual
Wellness Enter the Workplace:Praise the Lord that a company in Alabama permitted a
Christian employee to set up a spiritual wellnesss booth at a company Wellness
Fair.
CLA Win for AlaskaSchool Children:Praise the Lord that because a youth pastor in Alaska contacted CLA, teens at the local high school are now able
to bring their Bibles to school and read them during free reading times.
Minnesota First Grader Helped by CLA:Praise the Lord that a first grader in Minnesota was vindicated
after she was disciplined and received a detention for praying with a friend at
recess and asking God to heal her sick baby brother. This school already had a special prayer room
where Muslim children could go to pray.
CLA
Helps Teen Defeat Library Censorship:Praise
the Lord that a Tennessee
teenager is now visiting local libraries to donate religious books for their
collections.This teen was originally
told that libraries could not have religious books on their shelves, but attorneys
for CLA were able to intervene to correct this false notion.
CLA Gives Mayor Opportunity to Correct Her City’s Attorney:Praise the Lord
that a Tennessee mayor did not
believe her city attorney when he told her the city must prohibit a religious
group to use the town hall to teach courses in Bible languages. He claimed that would violate the “separation
of church and state.”When this mayor
called our office, we were able to provide her with correct legal information,
and the courses will now be allowed to meet.
South Carolina Cancels Gay Tourism Ads:Praise the Lord
that an inappropriate advertisement promoting gay tourism in South Carolina was withdrawn after
a great deal of citizen protest at this immoral and inappropriate depiction of
their state.
