CLA Prayer Policy Vindicated
Praise the Lord that an appellate court in Georgia has upheld the right
of pastors to pray in Jesus Name when they open legislative sessions
with prayer. The appeals court agreed with the U.S. Supreme Court that
“[t]he content of the prayer is not of concern to judges where . .
.there is no indication that the prayer opportunity has been exploited
to proselytize or advance any one, or to disparage any other, faith or
belief.” This is a wonderful Christmas present from the court for all
Americans.
CLA Defends Church Property
Pray for a church in North Carolina that is expanding its ministry and
has been told by state officials that the church will be required to
fund a highway project in order to be approved for a certificate of
occupation.
CLA Advises Christian Employees
Pray for a North Carolina worker who was terminated after refusing to falsify paperwork for his employer.
CLA Protects Church’s Rights
Praise the Lord that after attorneys for CLA intervened, a church in
California is now able to distribute invitations for church programs at
the local public school.
Homosexual Agenda Hurts Children
Pray for school children in California and Massachusetts who are being
exposed to inappropriate material furthering the gay agenda. Children
as young as Kindergarten have been required to read books promoting
homosexuality and have even been taken as guests to a gay wedding, all
without parental notification, approval, or the opportunity to opt
out. These incidents only foreshadow what some American educators have
in store for even very young children if gay marriage is accepted as
“normal” in our nation.
Pray for parents in Illinois who are
attempting to dialog with their public school administrators regarding
whether parents will be notified when children are being taught about
same-sex marriage in their school district. This is a state where gay
marriage has not been judicially imposed.
CLA Assisting Soul Winners Nationwide
Pray for a Texas man who was arrested and falsely charged with intoxication while preaching on a public street.
Pray for soul winners in New Hampshire and in Tennessee who have been
criminally cited for public preaching and handing out tracts.
Pray for a soul winner in Georgia who has been told he may not pass out
tracts in a city public park without paying for and obtaining a permit.
Praise the Lord that attorneys for CLA were able to have charges
dismissed against a soul winner who was distributing tracts at a
university in Ohio.
Continue to pray for several Florida Christians, whose cases are on
appeal after they were arrested while witnessing at a gay rights event.
Please pray as attorneys for CLA challenge restrictions on tract distribution at a civic center location in Georgia.
